Peru: the rapid growth of private investment in mining

Former chairman of Peru Mining, Petroleum and Energy Association (SNMPE) Pedro Martinez in the Peruvian mining exhibition in 2014, said the past 10 years, Peru Mining private investment increased five-fold.

With the growth of mining investment, Peru poverty rate fell to 23.9 % in 2013 from 2009‘s 54.8%. The amount of goods and services procured mining companies reached $ 4.825 billion.

He also said that a direct jobs generated by mining could create nine jobs in other industries.
